Kevin Müller suffered a concussion in his heavy collision with Ibrahima Sissoko on Friday evening. 1. FC Heidenheim officially announced this the day after the 0-0 draw in the relegation clash against VfL Bochum . How long the 34-year-old will be sidelined has not yet been determined.
Shortly after halftime, Müller collided with Sissoko on a high ball and initially lay motionless. Only after a ten-minute break for treatment was the Heidenheim goalkeeper stretchered off the pitch and eventually transported to the hospital.

"I didn't really enjoy constantly chasing the ball," says Heidenheim pro Kevin Müller in the new interview episode, which is why he decided to become a goalkeeper. After passing through his hometown of Rostock, Stuttgart, and Cottbus, the now 34-year-old landed at 1. FC Heidenheim in 2015 and has since played his part in an unprecedented success story. Müller talks about this and much more with your hosts Matthias and Mario. There's also a curious twist: The FCH goalkeeper and Mario discover they've met before on vacation—in Iceland. Listen in!
Müller was "definitely gone," but later "recovered," reported FCH coach Frank Schmidt after the match, which faded into the background due to the anxious minutes. Captain Patrick Mainka spoke of a "very frightening" situation that made all rivalry disappear. Bochum's Maximilian Wittek helped the paramedics carry Müller, and the away fans and FCH fans chanted Müller's name. "You could see that there is a great sense of solidarity in such a special situation," Schmidt said, paying "a compliment to all the fans" and VfL.
Feller's Bundesliga debut, but not a competitive matchMüller, who once made the leap to professional football with Hansa Rostock, has been playing for Heidenheim for ten years and is the clear number 1, even though his kicker rating fell from 2.76 to 3.24 in his second Bundesliga season. Against Bochum, U-19 international Frank Feller , who has already made four promising competitive appearances in the Conference League and the DFB Cup, made his Bundesliga debut after Müller's knockout. The 21-year-old homegrown player, whose contract runs until 2029, could be in demand again on matchday 33 when he travels to Union Berlin.
With Friday's 0-0 draw, FCH missed the chance to consolidate their 16th place in the relegation zone and further put pressure on 15th-placed TSG Hoffenheim. Bottom-placed Bochum still has a glimmer of hope, trailing four points by the same number of points, while second-to-last Holstein Kiel travels to Augsburg on Sunday.
